Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what we’re really doing here. What is the essence of healing? What are we truly trying to accomplish?
For so long, people have been caught between 2 separate camps: Western medicine and holistic healing. On one hand, we have Western medicine—focused on managing symptoms, suppressing discomfort, and keeping things under control. It has its place, but it’s not designed to create true healing. Instead, it offers a system where symptoms are quieted, but the root cause remains. While holistic healing—something that has existed for millennia—has always focused on the root cause, the body’s innate ability to heal, and supporting that process rather than overriding it. These 2 approaches have existed side by side, but many have been conditioned to believe that healing only comes from external interventions rather than within.
This is where our belief systems come in. Healing isn’t just about what you eat, the supplements you take, or the therapies you use, it’s about what you believe is possible for you.
Most people approach healing with endpoint questions:
- What’s the best supplement for my symptoms?
- How long will it take?
- Will this actually work for me?
- What if I’ve already tried everything and nothing has helped?
These questions stem from a belief system that sees healing as something external, something uncertain, something that may or may not be “for you.” But here’s the truth:
Healing is ALWAYS possible.
You might not believe that yet, and that’s okay. Beliefs are formed over time, shaped by experiences, societal norms, and even the messages we receive from childhood. Your body is NOT broken, and it IS capable of incredible regeneration when given the right conditions. The key is shifting your belief system to align with that reality.
A belief is simply something your mind holds as true. And here’s something fascinating: your subconscious mind must believe in something. If you believe healing is not possible, you are still believing something—it’s just a limiting belief.
To truly heal, we must shift what we accept as truth. And to do that, we need to expand our understanding of what is possible.
A belief shift is a shift in what you see as possible.
If you don’t believe deep healing is possible for you, your mind won’t even try to figure out how it could happen. That’s why so many people get stuck in cycles of illness—because their belief system doesn’t allow them to see another way.
Before you can embrace the how of healing (GAPS, nourishment, detox, nervous system regulation, etc.), you first need to believe in the what—that healing is possible for you.
So let’s break it down:
- Healing is possible in the world – Your body was designed to heal. There are countless examples of people who have reversed chronic illness, healed from so-called “incurable” conditions, and restored their health through natural means. This is not a rare phenomenon; it is a fundamental truth of how the body works.
- Healing is possible for others – Look at the stories of those who have walked this path before you. People with autoimmune diseases, gut disorders, neurological conditions, and more have reclaimed their health using the principles of GAPS and holistic healing. If it’s possible for them, why wouldn’t it be possible for you?
- Healing is possible for YOU – This is where you address your limitations. Maybe you think you don’t have enough time, energy, money, or the right background to make this work. But none of those things define your ability to heal. Healing doesn’t require perfection; it requires commitment to the process. Your body is always working toward healing—you just have to support it instead of blocking it.
Once you shift your belief system to knowing healing is possible, the rest becomes much easier. Instead of asking, “Will this work for me?” you’ll start asking, “How can I support my body best?” And that is where transformation begins.
At the end of the day, we all seek healing because we desire a feeling—vitality, energy, peace, freedom from pain. But you can’t even begin to imagine that feeling unless you believe it’s possible. And you can’t believe it’s possible unless you have overwhelming evidence that proves to you:
- Healing is happening in the world.
- Healing is happening for others.
- Healing can happen for you.
Your body is designed to heal. Let’s start shifting your beliefs to align with that truth.
